Biogas – Energy from organic waste

Refuse is made up of both inorganic and organic waste. Since the autumn of 2007, a pilot plant at Bruck an der Leitha has been enriching biogas, turning it into natural gas, which is then sold on to filling stations for use in natural gas powered cars. Organic CNG (compressed natural gas) is considered one of the most environmentally sensitive alternatives to unleaded petrol and diesel fuel.
