“Each year at the start of advent, I climb 73 metres to personally fasten the Christmas lights to the side of the Ringturm. Why do I do this? Let’s just say that this is my small contribution to the Christmas atmosphere in Vienna.

But this is just one small highlight of my job. In actual fact, my colleagues and I make sure that many buildings in Vienna look their best, and not just at Christmas. My responsibilities include looking after office blocks which we at Energiecomfort assume responsibility for, from the cellar to the chimney stack. This includes even the minor details, such as servicing the technological systems in the block or the lifts. Everyone knows from personal experience how frustrating it is if the lift breaks down and you suddenly have no option but to walk up or down 20 or 30 flights of stairs. Faults can often be recognised in time or even avoided if regular servicing checks are carried out, which in turn also reduce running costs.

We also give advice on how energy can be better used in a building. Ranging from insulation to planning and implementing modern technology, we are able to help reduce costs while also increasing the value of the building. This benefits the building’s owner, as well as the environment, because saving energy is environmentally friendly. Moreover, it benefits the people who live and work in these buildings.

We make sure that our buildings shine inside and out, the whole year round, not just at Christmas.”
